This policy explains exactly what data Tattie holds, for how long, and what happens to it when your account is closed. It supplements our Privacy Policy and should be read alongside it.
The short version: while your account is active we hold the data you give us in order to provide the service. When you close your account, everything is deleted immediately and permanently. We do not hold data in a deactivated state, apply a grace period, or retain anything “just in case.”
Tattie is a business management tool for self-employed dog groomers. The personal data we hold falls into two categories:
We are the data controller for groomer data. For customer data entered by groomers, you (the groomer) are the data controller and we act as a data processor on your behalf.
| Data category | What it includes | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
| Business profile | Business name, address, phone number, logo | Deleted on account closure |
| Authentication | Email address, encrypted password, session tokens | Deleted on account closure |
| Customer records | Client names, contact details, service notes | Deleted on account closure |
| Appointments | Booking dates, times, linked customer and job | Deleted on account closure |
| Jobs | Job records linking appointments to quotes and invoices | Deleted on account closure |
| Quotes | Quote line items, totals, status, customer link | Deleted on account closure |
| Invoices | Invoice line items, totals, payment status, customer link | Deleted on account closure |
| Price list | Your saved service types and prices | Deleted on account closure |
| Subscription record | Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, plan status | Deleted on account closure |
| Payment transactions | Charges, payment intents, card details | Held by Stripe — see below |
| Server logs | IP addresses, request timestamps, error traces | Up to 30 days (Vercel infrastructure) |
When you delete your account from the Settings page, all of the data listed above (except payment transaction records held by Stripe and infrastructure logs) is deleted immediately in a single operation. This includes your business profile, all customer records, all appointments, jobs, quotes, invoices, line items, your price list, and your authentication credentials.
This deletion is permanent and irreversible. We are not able to recover your data after account closure. If you think you may want to return to Tattie in future, or if you need your records for tax purposes, please export any data you need before closing your account.
Before you close your account: download or save copies of any invoices or financial records you may need for HMRC purposes. Once your account is deleted, we cannot retrieve them.
Tattie uses Stripeto process subscription payments and, where you use card payment features, customer card payments. All sensitive payment data (card numbers, bank details) is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored on Tattie’s servers.
Tattie holds only a reference to your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID. These references are deleted when your account closes. However, Stripe independently retains records of payment transactions on their own infrastructure under their own data retention obligations and applicable financial regulations. Tattie does not control this retention.
For details of what Stripe retains and for how long, please refer to Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
As a self-employed groomer, you are personally responsible for maintaining business records that satisfy HMRC requirements. HMRC generally requires sole traders to keep financial records — including invoices — for at least five years after the 31 January submission deadline for the relevant tax year (effectively around six years from the end of the accounting period).
Tattie’s deletion of your data on account closure does not fulfil or replace this obligation. It is your responsibility to retain copies of your invoices and other relevant financial records independently of Tattie for as long as HMRC requires.
Tattie is hosted on Vercel. Server-level logs, including IP addresses, request timestamps, and error traces, are retained by Vercel’s infrastructure for up to 30 days and are then automatically purged. Tattie does not separately store or archive these logs.
Error monitoring is provided by Sentry. Error events may contain limited contextual data (such as the page a request failed on) and are retained by Sentry for 90 days.
